Zheyu Zhang is a PhD Candidate within the department of Environmental Geography at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning (Engineering) and a Master’s degree in MSc Urban and Regional Planning. During her professional career, she has worked in urban planning and urban design, focusing on overall city planning projects. Her MSc thesis analysed the accessibility and equality of urban green infrastructure in Sheffield, specifically examining its impact on urban residents’ equality of access to green spaces. Currently, her PhD research focuses on the Multiple Climate Change Impacts of Urbanization, aiming to address the gap in understanding how building-level dynamics influence climate risks. By using high-resolution data, she seeks to improve the development and application of large-scale urban growth models to better understand how urban growth interacts with climate risks.
