dr. Valentina Fani

Assistant Professor, School of Business and Economics, Management and Organisation

Personal information

Valentina Fani is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the School of Business and Economics at Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. She obtained a Ph.D. in Management at HEC Lausanne, Switzerland in 2021.

Research

Her research interests center on strategic issues related to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As), particularly focusing on three growing and increasingly important categories of M&As: international deals, acquisitions of new ventures, and anti-competitive deals. In particular, her current research aims to better understand the competitive and regulative environments surrounding these M&As. From a methodological standpoint, she applies regression analyses using different empirical settings based on theoretical and practical considerations.

With different research articles, Valentina participated in the best conferences in her field, such as the annual conferences of the Academy of Management (AOM), the Strategic Management Society (SMS), the Academy of International Business (AIB), and the European Academy of Management (EURAM).

Valentina is currently involved in the following teaching activities:
