Tristian Stolte is a PhD candidate in the department of Water and Climate Risk of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focus is on disaster risk in cities, specifically with respect to vulnerability. He developed VulneraCity - a comprehensive database of urban vulnerability drivers. Building on this, he is also looking into new and improved urban vulnerability indicators. Before, Tristian worked on the C40 cities – Water Safe Cities project, for which he assessed flood and drought risk for 97 cities around the world. For drought, he improved and expanded the analysis to 264 cities globally. Tristian has a background in Hydrology and GIS.
