Timothy Tiggeloven is a researcher in the department of Water & Climate Risk of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since September 2017. He obtained his PhD degree in Coastal Flood Risk and Nature-based Solutions in 2022. The PhD thesis focusses on assessing the effectiveness of adaptation to coastal flooding at the global scale. He is a Hydrologist by training and his MSc thesis was partially conducted in Kitui, Kenya where he focused on water harvesting and adaptation to climate change.
Timothy’s postdoctoral research specialises in multi-hazard risk management and social vulnerability. With a focus on developing strategies to enhance disaster risk management and resilience in the face of complex challenges posed by multi-hazard events. His position is funded by MYRIAD-EU.
