I am an associate professor at VU Amsterdam in the fields of social media, corporate social responsibility, and social movements. Academically, I obtained a master’s degree in both Industrial Engineering & Management and Psychology (cum laude) from the University of Twente, and defended (cum laude) my dissertation 'When Slacktivism Matters' at the same university.
My research interests include online forms of organizing (e.g. slacktivism), online polarization (NWO Digital Society grant), social evaluation of organizations (e.g. legitimacy and authenticity), corporate social responsibility & activism, and governance of data collaborations.
I co-authored publications in journals such as Organization Science, Social Networks, Journal of Business Ethics, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, Government Information Quarterly, New Media & Society, Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly, and Journal of Public Affairs. Also I contributed to interdisciplinary publications in conferences such as EMNLP.
