Thom van der Molen is a research associate in the Environmental Policy Analysis group at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). His research focusses on the role of international cooperative initiatives in governing biodiversity, by exploring its institutional landscape.
He completed a Master of Science in Environment and Resource Management from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Science in Global Sustainability Science from the Utrecht University. Previous research centred around salinization in Egyptian agriculture, and the potential of hydroponics as an adaptive response to this salinization.
