Teun Schrieks is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the department of Environmental Economics of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is currently working on the EU Horizon project ARCADIA (TrAnsformative climate ResilienCe by nAture-baseD solutions in the contInentAl bio-geographical region). For this project, he investigates values, world views and preferences, among European citizens and businesses, that shape support for nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. This research involves several household surveys and discrete choice experiments.
Before his Postdoc, Teun Schrieks worked at IVM as a PhD candidate on the DOWN2EARTH project. In his PhD research, Teun investigated drought adaptation decisions among pastoralists and agropastoralists in Kenya, with the use of household surveys, economic experiments and discrete choice experiments.
Teun has a research master in Economics from Utrecht University. In his master thesis, Teun developed a model to examine the influence of lobbying and time preferences on emission tax policy. After his master, Teun worked for 1 year as junior lecturer at the Utrecht University School of Economics.
