prof. dr. Sylvie Bleker-van Eyk

Prof. Dr. Sylvie C. Bleker-van Eyk is a senior director at Price Waterhouse Coopers Forensic Services in Amsterdam, specializing in international law, anti-bribery and corruption, export controls, and crisis management. She has worked with organizations in the financial and non-financial sectors in various countries, for example, leading the compliance team during the IPO of a merchant and retail bank in Germany, and training eight Russian multinationals listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange with regard to Sarbanes-Oxley and the FCPA. In the Netherlands, her services are often requested as a corporate troubleshooter, working with companies or national authorities when a crisis occurs and swift action is necessary. During the first 10 years of her career, Sylvie lectured in international law and international economic law at the University of Utrecht. She is a Professor and program director of postgraduate education in Compliance & Integrity Management at the Vrije Universiteit. She founded the Dutch Chapter of Transparency International in 1999; served as vice-chairman of the Dutch Investigative Board on Governmental Integrity (until 2013); served as chairman of the Dutch Investigative Board on Corporate Integrity, and Chairman of the Dutch NEN working group on the ISO 19600 Compliance norm.
