dr. Stefan Waldherr

Personal information

Stefan Waldherr is assistant professor at the department of Operations Analytics of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds a Phd from the University of Osnabruck (2015).

Research

Stefan is interested in all areas of combinatorial optimization, game theory, and market design. His main interests lie in the interesection of these areas where the use and distribution of scarce resoruces has to be agreed upon between self-interested parties. Examples include policy design for agriculture, contracting, auction design, and matching mechanisms (for example students to schools or workers to tasks).

Teaching

Stefan coordinates the IBA first year course Business Processes and the EOR master course Optimization and Multiagent systems. He is the chair of the program commitee of the EOR master program and the specialization coordinator for "Transport and Supply Chain Management" within the Bachelor programs Bedrijfskunde and International Business Administration.
