Personal information

Sjoerd Oppenheim is a lecturer-researcher and PhD candidate in the Department of Legal Theory at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds an MPhil in Philosophy (cum laude), an LLB (cum laude) and a BA (cum laude) in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam. He has also studied at Columbia Law School and University College London.

His PhD research focuses on the legal and political ramifications of emerging genetic biotechnologies for the notion of legal personhood.
