Sebastian's research has two major focus points.
On the macro side, Sebastian is interested in the implications of global trends and geopolitical developments for International Business. For example, a recent study develops scenarios for European Multinationals in an era of geopolitical disruption.
On the micro side, Sebastian studies how individuals' characteristics shape organizations, with a particular emphasis on internationalization. Examples include studies about the implications of top mangers' internationalization for employer attractiveness or their busyness.
Sebastian regularly presents his research at international conferences and has published in journals like Journal of International Managment, European Management Journal or Management International Review.
He is involved in the Amsterdam Research Project (study association Aureus), as well as an active member of the VU Knowledge Hub for Global Business Development and co-organizer of the annual Globalization Research Day.
