I am a critical and interdisciplinary scholar working at the intersection of institutional sociology, feminist theory, and postcolonial studies and I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Department of Organization Studies.
My research mainly examines how power, identity, and knowledge production interact in various organizational settings, with particular attention to nonprofit organizations and the limits of 'diversity' discourse. I have more specifically explored how race, gender, and coloniality shape the experiences of those positioned as “deviant” within dominant institutional logics. I am particularly interested in how institutions reproduce and resist forms of exclusion, how this affects 'the workplace self' and how scholars and practitioners alike can understand and disrupt these dynamics.
In 2023, I obtained my PhD in Sociology from the University of Antwerp, with a dissertation titled Unveiling differences: an exploration of workplace diversity discourses, practices, and identities in nonprofit organizations. I was also a visiting research fellow at HEC Montréal in Canada.
