From my background as an elementary school teacher, I try to connect educational practice and educational research. I look for ways to connect my research to what is going on in practice and, where possible, carry relevant research findings into educational practice. In this way, I facilitate an important translation between two parties who often do not yet understand and comprehend each other well.

Research
In my postdoc research I focus on self-regulation in primary education. During this project that spans three years, we will develop a knowledge platform that translates current knowledge about self-regulation into educational practice. We will also collect existing material and develop new material to work with self-regulation in the classroom. In this way we hope that more teachers will start working with this topic in the classroom.
