Peter Robinson is an assistant professor within the department of Environmental Economics at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM).
His research focuses on understanding individual preparedness decisions against low-probability/high-impact natural disaster risks. In 2020 Peter obtained his PhD degree for his thesis which compiled several behavioural economic studies of flood insurance demand. Another more recent focus of his research is economic valuation through stated preference methods.
At the IVM Peter is involved in teaching environmental economics and statistics within the MSc programme Earth Sciences specialization Global Environmental Change and Policy, as well as the MSc programme Hydrology. He also supervises students writing their thesis within the MSc programme Environment and Resource Management.
