Dr. Nazan Özdemir-Öztürk is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Breakthrough Technology Innovation Group at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Her research lies at the intersection of sustainable innovation, technology adoption, and socio-technical transitions. She investigates how emerging sustainable technologies—particularly electric mobility—are adopted, diffused, and integrated into existing socio-technical systems.
Combining quantitative modeling, survey research, and qualitative comparative analysis, her work aims to identify behavioral, organizational, and systemic drivers that facilitate or hinder sustainability transitions. She is particularly interested in how consumer behavior, institutional frameworks, and innovation policies interact to shape the diffusion of sustainable technologies.
Her research contributes to a deeper understanding of systemic change, technology acceptance, and the governance of sustainable innovation, supporting pathways toward a low-carbon and circular economy.
