His lectures include topics like health inequalities, class and ageing, and demography of ageing. He has supervised several BSc and MSc theses, involving research with data from the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam.

Grants

Huisman received multiple research grants from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development. Among others, he received a VIDI fellowship grant for his research on resilience in old age. Huisman has been successful in securing funding for maintaining and expanding on a key infrastructure for social science on ageing, the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam, through several investment subsidies.
