Samantha began her PhD at the VU Amsterdam EU Law department in November 2024. She is conducting a research on the 'Creation of New International Courts' centering on the creation of the International Anticorruption Court. Her research is focusing on accountability venues for private sector involved in grand corruption and political corruption.
Before joining VU Amsterdam, Samantha worked as a researcher for a local NGO on the topics of violations to right of education worldwide and rule of law, working on UPR reports and Input Calls regarding the harming effects of corruption on the right to education for different countries. Before moving into the Netherlands she worked for an International NGO specialized on fighting modern slavery. Samantha is a qualified attorney at law graduated from Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala, a MSc on Public Management and Political Leadership from Escuela de Gobierno, Guatemala. On 2023 she finalized her Advanced LLM in Public International Law (specialized in Peace, Justice and Development) from Leiden University.
