Lucas Ribeiro Diaz is a PhD student at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He received a BSc in environmental engineering (2018) and an MSc in remote sensing (2021) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Lucas is currently researching fire-induced permafrost degradation and associated carbon emissions combining field and remote sensing approaches. His research interests also include thermal infrared remote sensing, atmospheric numerical modeling, evapotranspiration, urban heat islands, and atmospheric correction.
