Recent advancements in gene and cell therapies offer new options to patients with severe, hereditary and understudied blood diseases. Exciting as this development is, it is crucial to study the social and ethical aspects of these therapies, and ensure they align with patient needs. As part of the TRACER consortium, I am conducting qualitative research in this subject under the supervision of sociologist Prof. Dr. Eva-Maria Merz and ethicist Dr. Jeantine Lunshof.
