PhD Candidate, Faculty of Science, Water and Climate Risk

Personal information

Lotte Muller is a PhD researcher in the department of Water and Climate Risk of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). She obtained a bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences where she focussed on economics and sociology alongside mathematics and statistics. She wrote a bachelor thesis about Schelling’s segregation model. Lotte completed her masters with a thesis about personal bankruptcy in the Netherlands using CBS data. After this, Lotte followed courses from the Mathematics master at Utrecht university while working as a Junior lecturer at Utrecht university.

Currently, Lotte’s research explores human-water interactions during droughts in the Rijnland area in the Netherlands.
