I am an experienced researcher who has proven capable funding my position (2008 – present). My aim is to expand my Isotope Archaeology & Forensics group above the current post-doc and PhD. This is already happening through fruitful and strategic research collaborations with other academic departments in the Netherlands and Europe. My current research ranging from the Palaeolithic (Doggerland), through pre-history (metal ages) and history (colonial periods) to the modern era (forensic (cold) cases). I have collaborations with, among others, DNA research groups (FLDO in the Netherlands, Centre for Geogenetics in Copenhagen, Denmark, Reich David Reich Lab in Boston, USA), and am striving for an optimal integration of isotope and DNA research in (traditional) archaeological or historical research. In addition, it is essential for the group to further enhance its international reputation by broadening the current (inter)national academic collaborations with, among others, the department of Art & Culture, History, and Antiquity at our Faculty of Humanities, ACASA and CLUE+, the Faculty of Archaeology at Leiden University, the Analytical, Environmental and Geochemistry group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the initiators behind the largest online isotope database (IsoArcH.eu).
