Jeanne de Bruijn (1953) was at the VU professor in Sociology and Genderstudies from 1990-2006. From 2006-2012 she was rector magnificus at the University of the Netherlands Antilles. Since 2012 Jeanne is part time researcher in the department of public administration and political sciences, in the Quality of Governance research group. She is chairing the GSSS fund. Jeanne is also part time professor at the University College Roosevelt.

Jeanne research interests are on topics of resilience of governance in the Caribbean, migration and integration, domestic violence and sexual harassment. Publications are on these topics. Jeanne is involved in research projects in the Caribbean part of the Netherlands, together with the Research institute Regioplan.
Teaching involves VU master thesis supervising on topics of resilience of governance in the Caribean, migration and integration, domestic violence and sexual harassment. VU-HOVO course “Preparing a PhD proposal”. At the University College Roosevelt the courses are a) Global Sociology, b) Modern Sociology, c) Social Inclusion, d) Migration and Integration. Since 2015 I teach a summercourse every summer at the University Utrecht titled: Global Trends in Demographics and Migration, togethet with VU colleague dr. Caroline van Dullemen.
