Hemant Rughoonauth is a PhD candidate at the Athena Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on co-designing accessible youth mental healthcare. His research intersects social sciences, psychology and global mental health, with a commitment to promoting mental well-being and reducing inequalities. His works aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Throughout his PhD, he also teaches International Comparative Analyses of Healthcare Systems and the Global Mental Health Summer School.
