Dr Hannah C. Mortimer is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Environmental Policy Analysis department of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) of VU Amsterdam. She has a background in archaeology, anthropology and sociology.
She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher for SaltyBEATS, a project investigating the role of halophytes (salt-tolerant plants) as nature-based solutions within saline agriculture in Europe and North Africa. Her role involves using ecosystem services mapping and discussing future scenarios for saltlands using creative and participatory methods with farmers and other stakeholders.
Prior to her postdoctoral research, Hannah used ethnographic methods to investigate attitudes towards animal feeding and caring and perspectives on ‘good farming’ among regenerative livestock farmers in Devon, England.
