I am a sedimentary geologist working on a PhD project investigating time scales of peat deposition in ancient terrestrial environments. Specifically, I work on Paleocene records of coal-bearing fluvio-deltaic sediments, in the Williston Basin (USA). I investigate allogenic forcing on these systems by using sedimentology and integrated stratigraphy.
I did my BSc and MSc at Utrecht University. For my MSc work, I worked on the Miocene-Pliocene transition in Sicily (van Dijk et al., 2023; Rodríguez-Tovar et al, 2023; Maars et al., 2023). During my BSc, I worked on magnetostratigraphic correlation of Miocene cores in the Pannonian Basin (Kelder et al., 2018).
