Geeske Ruitenberg is universitair hoofddocent bij de afdeling Privaatrecht, Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam en programmaleider van het onderzoeksprogramma van het Amsterdams Centrum voor Familie & Recht (ACFL). Zij schreef een proefschrift over het belang van het kind in internationale kinderontvoeringszaken en is auteur van verschillende artikelen en (delen van) boeken en rapporten op het terrein van het familie- en jeugdrecht. Haar voornaamste onderzoeksgebieden zijn Nederlands familierecht, gezag en omgang, internationale kinderontvoering, kinderrechten (IVRK) en kinderbescherming.
Geeske Ruitenberg works as an associate professor for the Faculty of Law, department of private law of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and she is leader of the research programme of the Amsterdam Centre for Family & Law (ACFL). She completed a PhD thesis on the best interests of the child in international abduction cases and is an author of several articles and (parts of) books and reports in the area of family law and juvenile law. Her main research interests are Dutch family law, custody and access, international child abduction, children’s rights (CRC) and child protection.
