Personal information

Eva Sugeng is an assistant professor at the department of Environment and Health. She obtained her doctorate degree in 2020 on the thesis 'Flame retardant exposure in young children and the role of toddler-like behavior'. She holds a bachelor degree in Health and Life Sciences obtained at the VU Amsterdam, and a master in Public Health: Health Education and Promotion obtained at Maastricht University. 

Eva is involved in several courses in the bachelor Health and Life Sciences and supervising internships. As a researcher, Eva is involved in research projects focussed on determinants of prenatal exposure and childhood exposure to chemicals (e.g. phthalates and flame retardants) and the neurodevelopmental effects of exposure in later life. Her research involves mother-child cohorts including the VU-based LINC-cohort (LInking Endocrine discruptive chemicals in maternal Nutrition and Child health) and the Australian based BIS cohort (Barwon Infant Study).
