Eva Koemar is a lecturer in Social & Cultural Anthropology at the VU Amsterdam. She holds a Master's degree from the University of Amsterdam, where she wrote her thesis on the relationship between the recent oil discoveries along the Surinamese coast and the future perspectives of local entrepreneurs. Her main interest is the anthropology of money.
