Erik Kommol has joined the department of Knowledge, Information and Innovation at VU Amsterdam as a postdoctoral researcher in November 2024. Prior to joining VU, he was a Ph.D. student at the Vienna University of Business and Economics (2024), a visiting researcher at the Network Science Institute in Boston, and worked as a Consultant in Psychometrics. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology at the University of Vienna. Erik serves as an Open Science Ambassador for the Center for Open Science and works independently as a Statistician.

His research interests include collective intelligence, the wisdom of crowds, the gig economy, and advice taking. In his research, he employs methods such as experimental techniques, meta-analysis, network analysis, and agent-based modeling.
