Damla Diriker


Assistant Professor, School of Business and Economics, Knowledge, Information and Innovation

Personal information

Damla Diriker is a Ph.D. candidate at the KIN Center for Digital Innovation at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. 

Prior to her Ph.D., she held a Research Master Business in Society at the VU and UvA and a master’s in Management Engineering with a specialization in Energy Management at Politecnico di Milano. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and has work experience in the energy sector.

Damla is interested in understanding how digital platforms can help to tackle complex societal problems. Employing a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, she studies how organizations can implement collaborative crowdsourcing to tackle complex problems and how the collective power of crowds can yield innovative solutions through online collaborations.
