Cédric Middel is an Assistant Professor of System Transformation for Health and Well-Being at the Athena Institute of the VU University. His work focusses on sustainability transitions in food and health-care systems, with a focus on systemic drivers of unhealthy dietary behaviours, challenges for health-care transformations, and the use of transdisciplinary methods to develop solutions.
His most recent interest is the role of commercial interests and power dynamics in shaping dietary behaviours and perceptions, contextualised within the broader field of commercial determinants of health.
He has a background in biomedical sciences (BSc.), transdisciplinary research (MSc.) and food system transformations (PhD).
