Cecilia Zagaria is an Assistant Professor at the department of Environmental Geography. Her research is focused on socio-ecological transformation in agricultural landscapes, exploring how farmer preferences, policy instruments, and territorial constraints interact to shape pathways toward (un)sustainability. Her recent work has focused on agroecology in Europe, where she has worked closely with practitioners to co-design monitoring and evaluation processes to support its scaling. She is particularly interested in integrating spatially explicit (agent-based) models within transdisciplinary research approaches to navigate trade-offs in the realization of sustainable landscape change.
