Apeksha Tare is a researcher at the Department of Spatial Economics at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. Her research relates to the application of land-use change analysis and modelling to simulate scenario-based future urban development. Her spatial analysis approach employs a combination of GIS-based and econometric techniques to understand the various forces driving urban development.
Prior to her role as a researcher at VU Amsterdam, Apeksha completed the master’s program in spatial economics at the VU. During this period, she also worked as a research intern at PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, where she investigated the economic impact of localized urban density and urban form characteristics using hedonic modelling. In addition, she has a prior academic background in environmental engineering and basic science from the United States and India, respectively.
