André van Montfort (1959) was vijfentwintig jaar werkzaam als universitair hoofddocent Bestuurskunde bij de afdeling Bestuurswetenschap en Politicologie. Sinds zijn pensionering in 2026 verricht hij freelancewerkzaamheden voor de VU. Dit betreft het plaatsvervangend voorzitterschap van het College van Beroep voor de Examens en van de Geschillenadviescommissie. Ook verzorgt hij – tezamen met een collega – het onderwijs voor het bachelorvak Democratie en Rechtsstaat.
Naast zijn freelancewerkzaamheden voor de VU verricht André van Montfort activiteiten als rechter-plaatsvervanger in de rechtbank Overijssel en gemeentelijk ombudsman van De Wolden en Hoogeveen. Hij is tevens bestuurslid van de Stichting Dominicanenklooster Zwolle en penningmeester van de Dominicaanse Lekengemeenschap Nederland.
André van Montfort (1959) worked for twenty-five years as an associate professor of Public Administration at the Department of Public Administration and Political Science. Since his retirement in 2026, he has been doing freelance work for VU Amsterdam. This concerns the deputy chairmanship of the Examination Appeals Board and of the Disputes Advisory Committee. He also teaches – together with a colleague – the bachelor's course Democracy and the Rule of Law.
In addition to his freelance work for the VU, André van Montfort performs activities as deputy judge at the District Court of Overijssel and municipal ombudsman of De Wolden and Hoogeveen. He is also board member of the Dominican Monastery Zwolle Foundation and treasurer of the Dominican Lay Community of the Netherlands.
