Amanda Porter is an Associate Professor at the Vrije Universiteit, School of Business and Economics, in the KIN Center for Digital Innovation. She holds a PhD in Organizational Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MA in Organizational Communication from the University of Texas at Austin.

Amanda's research examines collaborative innovation to tackle grand societal challenges and how digital technologies can be used to scale impact. She has published research in journals such as the Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, the Journal of Computer Mediated Communication, the European Journal of Information Systems, and in various conference proceedings in Communication and Organization Studies.
Amanda is the co-founder of the School of Business and Economics Future of Learning Community, powered by Impact Lab. She recently served as the Program Coordinator of the BSc International Business Administration from 2017-2021. Her administrative work supports active blended learning and pedagogically informed uses of technology to support teaching and learning.
Amanda teaches courses at the intersection of business, innovation, and society. Her teaching immerses students in organizations as collaborative innovators of sustainable and socially responsible business. She teaches the graduate level course on the Management of Sustainable Innovation and the bachelor course on Shared Value Creation. She also teaches courses on qualitative research methods at bachelor and graduate levels.
