PhD Candidate, Faculty of Science, Environmental Economics

Personal information

Abimael Candraditya is a PhD Candidate within the department of Environmental Economics of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His PhD research focuses on the adaptation behaviour of households and small businesses when faced with climate change risks using field survey and empirical methods. The work is part of the ERC-funded INSUREADAPT project that aims to enhance adaptation towards multi-hazard climate risks through effective insurance arrangements.

Before starting his PhD, Abimael worked as a junior lecturer at the Utrecht University School of Economics, primarily involved in the teaching activities of economics and quantitative courses for the Bachelor programme. He holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and Business Economics, majoring in Policy Economics, from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Research Master degree in Economics and Business at the University of Groningen, specialising within the Economics track.
