Our research focuses on the stimulation and optimisation of physical activity and physical function in people with pain and mobility problems, from young to old, in (paralympic) athletes and patients with (neuromusculair) impairments.
Goals:
- to understand the working mechanisms for prevention and rehabilitation of pain and mobility problems
- to use integrated knowledge of neuromuscular, physiological, behavioural and cognitive aspects of functioning
- to use knowledge to maintain and promote mobility in healthy and impaired individuals in their own environment
- to achieve impact in (clinical) context through (preventive) treatments and/or assistive technology.
