This is the final conference organized by RESPOND, an EU-funded research project running from 2020 to 2024. The project aims to identify which groups are most at risk for adverse mental health effects due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to understand what determines that risk. RESPOND also examined whether mental health was included in the policy responses. Finally, RESPOND also implemented and adapted cost-effective programmes developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO): “Doing What Matters in Times of Stress” and “Problem Management Plus”, to help those in need, and identified effective strategies to improve health system preparedness in the event of a future pandemic.
During this event, RESPOND partners will present the final scientific results of the RESPOND project. There will also be a panel discussion with researchers, practitioners and policymakers to delve deeper into the implications and recommendations arising from the research.
Confirmed speakers include: Prof. Marit Sijbrandij (Chair), Dr Mark Humphrey Van Ommeren, Prof. Maria Melchior, Prof. Ellenor Mittendorfer-Rutz, Dr Wagner Silva-Ribeiro, Prof. Dr Vincent Lorant, Dr David McDaid, Dr Roberto Mediavilla, Dr Pablo Nicaise, Dr Marianna Purgato, and Dr Andrea Tortelli, among others.
