The SBE PhD council previously known as ABRI PhD Council was formed in 2010 and aims at being an accessible portal to both SBE PhD's and the School board.
In doing so, we have developed four main goals through which we wish to manifest ourselves:
- to represent the interests of SBE PhD's (in terms of Labour agreements)
- to provide information relevant to SBE PhD's
- to organise educative and informative PhD-seminars
- and to organise social events
In addition, the PhD Council represents SBE PhD's at the so-called 'interfaculty promovendi-overleg', where issues are discussed that matter to all Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam PhD's.
Aside from representing SBE PhDs, the council also organises PhD lunches, approximately 2 times a year, where we enjoy a lunch while discussing a serious topic that we have encountered or might encounter in our lives as PhDs. The council also organises social events to connect and get to know each other.
