Neurotransmitters are endogenous chemicals that enable neurotransmission which can be affected by the exposure of neurotoxic chemicals.
We developed methods to determine neurotransmitters of the dopaminergic− andrenergic, glutaminergic−GABAnergic, serotoninergic, histaminergic, and cholinergic systems including their precursors and metabolites in tissues. Only small sample amounts are needed, for instance neurotransmitters can be determined in zebrafish embryos or the CNS of the snails.
