WO&MEN @VU is a network that aims to improve the position of everyone in the workplace. Promoting diversity, tackling gender-specific stereotyping and existing role patters within the organisation I important to achieve equal opportunities for all employees.
Within the board we strive for representation from the various all faculties and various job levels. At the moment we are inviting staff of the Faculty of Science particularly those working in research and education, to consider joining the WO&MEN@VU board and to help to achieve our goal.
In order to achieve our goals we organise activities such as network meetings, various workshops, masterclasses and mentoring programmes. For example, we have been active in the field of “Men’s emancipation” and Violence against women -> Orange the work. We have founded the WO&MEN@VU Gender Research Network and are a partner in the student project “Beyond Gender Inequalities” and are organisers of the International Women’s Day. In 2025 we focussed on “Hope and Accelerate Action” with participation of President of the University and the Dean of the Faculty of Science, among others. Our activities fall in the areas of Policy, Research, Education and Community. We collaborate with Women in STEM, HRM-VU, DURF, Center for Teaching and Learning, Theatre The Griffioen and RIALTO.
