The VU Employability Fund is a new fund that provides employability and career opportunities until the end of 2028, particularly for early-career academics whose temporary employment comes to an end.
The fund supports, among other things, a Dutch language training for international employees and obtaining a first-degree teaching qualification for teachers who wish to continue working in education. Teams or departments undergoing significant change because of a major organisational change and/or reorganisation can use the fund to take the ‘Dealing effectively with change’ training.
The spending plan for the VU Employability Fund was drawn up this spring in consultation with the Local Consultative Body and is based on Annex N of the Dutch Universities Collective Labour Agreement (CAO NU) 2025-2026.
