We promised to get back to you soon following the open letter from our rector magnificus Jeroen Geurts. The experiences described in the media, and the conversations with students that followed, have had a significant impact. We take concerns seriously.
We are also very grateful for the willingness to work together toward a safe and inclusive culture on our campus.
Over a fiveweek period, we will organise smallscale student meetings to gather experiences, questions, and suggestions. The sessions on social safety will be facilitated by experienced and independent conversation leaders, ensuring a safe and constructive dialogue in which all voices can be heard. In the week of 9 March, we will begin with an initial session to assess whether the intended format works effectively.
We will use the outcomes and insights to identify what we can improve. We are actively reaching out to groups to take part in these sessions. Would you like to participate as well? If so, please get in touch via this form.
In parallel with these meetings, we are also working on the regulations and the campaign period for the student elections. More information will follow in a subsequent update, which we will publish in week 11.
