“When I heard about the course ‘Teaching Professionals’, I immediately knew this was for me,” says Edona Elshan, assistant professor at the School of Business and Economics (SBE). She mainly teaches business administration students, often with a strong technological focus. But teaching professionals, she found, is a different story.
“They bring their own work experience into the lecture hall, communicate differently and expect teaching to be directly relevant to their practice.” In the course at the VU Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL), Edona learned how to respond to that dynamic: less theory upfront, more work with real-life cases and more room for reflection at a higher level.
