During the Erasmus Days, which were held from 12 to 17 October 2026, we celebrated Erasmus+ at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. We organised a VU Erasmus+ Café for the first time, for both students and staff.
In an informal setting, the participants could practice their language skills and enjoy snacks from different countries. One of the goals of Erasmus+ is to bring together people from different backgrounds and cultures. You could hear Spanish, French, English, Dutch and Italian throughout the room, and we had a great time celebrating.
Thanks to Erasmus+, many of our students can study abroad in Finland, Austria, Italy, or another European destination. VU staff also benefits from teaching or training opportunities, by going on a staff week or even taking part in a European cooperation project, like a project to evaluate the societal impact of design.
