As board of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities we condemn acts of harassment and violence committed against students of our faculty.
In Social Sciences and Humanities, it is well established knowledge that political violence comprises more than individual acts. There are systemic, ideological motives that underpin those acts that also need to be addressed.
We stand in solidarity with students who practice and defend free speech on campus, but we condemn hate speech, harassment, violence. Free speech does not entail threats to the safety of students because of who they are or want to be.
