The first CTA² Conference on Spatial Structures brought researchers together at VU Amsterdam from 21 to 25 September 2026. The successful five-day event saw new collaborations take shape across topology, combinatorics and geometry.
Research talks explored developments in topological graph theory, spatial graphs, braids and periodic tilings. A work session gave participants time to discuss research questions together, exchange approaches and explore shared interests.
These exchanges helped initiate new collaborations, advancing the conference’s aim of strengthening connections within the spatial structures research community. The event marked the beginning of the CTA² meeting series.
The conference was organised by Senja Barthel, Stavroula Makri, Riya Dogra and Hannah Santa Cruz Baur. We thank all speakers and participants for their contributions to a productive week of research and discussion.
We gratefully acknowledge financial support from CTA² and the NWO.
