How can decision-making processes under time pressure within defense be improved. PhD candidate Minke Osinga is going to focus on this question.
Osinga started on 1 June as a PhD candidate at the Dutch Defense Academy (NLDA) and is an external PhD candidate at the Organizational Sciences department of VU Amsterdam. In her research she looks at decision-making at the Royal Netherlands Army under time pressure and uncertainty. Although rapid, decentralized decision-making is becoming increasingly important, the risk of biases is also increasing. She researches how military units deal with such biases in decision-making processes and how decision-making can be improved.
