A nationwide 24-hour public transport strike will take place on Wednesday 9 September. This will affect travel to and from VU Amsterdam. The (language) tests originally scheduled for 9 September have therefore been moved to another day. Teaching will go ahead. Academic ceremonies will also go ahead as planned.
Keep an eye on Canvas
The strike may result in changes to teaching arrangements. Teaching activities may, for example, be moved to a hybrid or online format. Lecturers will communicate any changes via Canvas as soon as possible. Please keep a close eye on Canvas for the latest information.
We understand that the strike may create additional challenges for students and staff. If the strike prevents you from travelling to campus by public transport, please see whether you can make alternative travel arrangements.
The strike has been organised by the FNV trade union in protest at the government's planned cuts to social security.
