22 January 2026
Paolo Gorgi has been named in the 2025 Economenparade, the annual ranking of top-performing economists in the Netherlands published by the journal ESB (Economisch Statistische Berichten). This ranking identifies the most productive researchers based on their publication records in leading peer-reviewed journals over the last five years.

The 2025 edition of the Parade features a significant change in methodology to better represent the breadth of modern economic research by including a wider range of international and multidisciplinary journals. Additionally, this year’s analysis specifically highlights the performance of researchers who have not yet reached the rank of full professor. Within this category, Paolo Gorgi secured an impressive 4th place out of the 25 top-ranked non-professors in the Netherlands.

Paolo Gorgi’s inclusion reflects his consistent output in high-ranking journals under these updated criteria. According to the ESB 2025 report, the current field is characterized by high international competition and a shift toward diverse publication strategies. His placement in the Parade underscores his contribution to the department’s research profile and his standing within the Dutch academic landscape.
